Presently there are approximately 4,300 privately owned yachts greater than 100 feet. A good yacht broker not only knows the name of the yacht, they will know the size, engines, designer, owner or the original owner who ordered the yacht and

a host of details about the yacht. For example, I received a call from a client in the Middle East, looking for a large sailing yacht. He wanted a 140 ft. sailboat and was particularly interested in boats designed by Dubois Yacht Designs.

 I  immediately knew of a boat for this buyer. The boat in mind was located in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. I emailed him specs of the boat, and we met in Mallorca to view the yacht. While in Mallorca I set up interviews and viewings of other large sailing yachts which were available, to give him more options. He loved the boat and after a significant sea trial and survey he closed on the Dubois yacht.
